Speed limits in Russia
In Russia (official abbreviation: RUS ), the speed limits are the following ones:
- 60 km/h downtown
- 90 km/h except agglomeration
- 110 km/h on highway
- However, a highway between Moscow and Saint-Pétersbourg is in project, where speed would be limited to 150 km/h.
Remarks
- In the facts, the speed limit is seldom respected and in Moscow for example, one often sees vehicles well with of 100 km/h downtown.
- corruption is a current practice in Russia. The militia ( “Милиция” Russian ), equivalent of the police force, often stops the drivers for any reason. If you refuse to pay the bribes (in general more expensive than the fines), they can retain your license for one 3 months duration.
Other rules
- No blood alcohol content authorized at the wheel (0,0 alcohol g/L in blood);
- Studded tires authorized in winter.
