Speed in advance

In Machining, the speed in advance v_f is a speed expressed in Millimètre by minute (mm/min).

It depends on the type of operation carried out, the tool, the surface quality wished, etc

To determine speed in advance v_f in Millimetre by minute (mm/min):

v_f = f_z \ cdot Z \ cdot n
v_f: speed in advance in mm/min
f_z: advances by tooth in mm/dent
z: many teeth of the outil
n: rotational frequency out of turns/minute

The formula can be written differently according to the operation of machining (Tournage, Fraisage, Perçage, Rectification, etc)
