Speed dating

The speed dating (Anglicism meaning “fast meetings literally”) is a method of meetings in love fast and in series.

History

The method was created by the Rabbin Yaacov Deyo with the the United States at the end of the Années 1990. Deyo aimed to preserve the Jewish culture by pushing with the intracommunity marriages. The method since was propagated at the other communities, then with other countries.

Methods

The organizers start by carrying out a first sorting among the candidates who were registered with this type of evenings. Only the selected candidates will be informed place and specific time of the event.

Criticisms

The detractors of such a system criticize of them the same characteristic features which apply to the love affairs the practices of the Consumer society.

Concerning the name

“ Speed dating ” is a Registered trademark in France by the company Select & Perfect , which launched in 2002 on the territory the concept of the fast meetings. However, the expression is usually used in France to indicate this concept, without true bond with the registered trademark.

The equivalent advised in French is “(meeting of) fast meetings express train” or “meetings”. These expressions are not however popular, and remain of a confidential employment.

Extension to other fields

This practice, Social phenomenon, became so current that it extended to other fields.

Thus this is a new manner of making meet people, not inevitably with goal in love, but, for example, to be affinities Politique S, or in a professional framework to create a network.

One also will practice this method in certain meetings to force everyone to be itself spoken at least once.
