Spectral signature
The spectral signature is the electromagnetic emission single of an object according to the Wavelength.
In the military field, mainly in the Aeronautical military, the manufacturers attempts to design apparatuses whose spectral signature is most neutral possible, so that those cannot be identified with standard methods of analysis spectral, as with Spectroradiomètre S Infrarouge S or imageurs spectral.
In Infra-red Teledetection , the images of the Ground taken starting from a satellite or of a Plane, is analyzed while referring to libraries of spectral signatures of the various plants and minerals. Each type of plants or Arbre S has a spectral signature single which depends on its growth, but also of the environmental conditions and constraints (Humidité, Température.). The analysis of the images by satellite makes it possible for example to determine with a good precision the awaited output of harvests. It was the case during the Cold war, when the the United States had a relatively good knowledge of the harvest of Blé and Maïs of the Soviet Union before this one.
