Specialized center of care to the drug addicts
In France, a specialized center of care to the drug addicts ( CSST ) is a structure having for mission of ensuring the preventive actions and of care the drug addicts, mentioned in article 3 of the law of December 31st, 1970.
Into 2003, the statute of the CSST changed, making them pass from the device of exception, based on a conventional system financed by the state (and in a complementary way by the MILDT and of the local government agencies), with the common right of the medico-social institutions, financed by the Health insurance (medico-social envelope of ONDAM).
There exist 201 CSST with ambulatory orientation, associative or public, 47 associative CSST with lodging, and 16 CSST in prison medium, ensuring the assumption of responsibility of approximately 70.000 people.
The list of the specialized centres of care for drug addicts is published each year with the bulletin of the administrative acts of the Préfecture of the department in which the center is.
