Sparteca
The Sparteca , acronym for South Pacific Regional Trade and Economic Co-operation Agreement , in French “Economic cooperation agreement and commercial regional of the Southern Pacific”, is a regional agreement signed between several States of Oceania with an aim of improving the co-operations economic and commercial between the Australia, the New Zealand and the small Island states of the Pacifique Southern.
History
The treaty is created on January 1st, 1981 after being signed on July 14th, 1980 with Tarawa (Kiribati) by the following States:The June 30th of the same year, Australia signs in its turn the agreement.
Presentation
Sparteca allows to the abolition of the customs duties for the products coming from the small Island states members of the Forum of the Southern Pacific and bound for Australia and of New Zealand. The goal is to rebalance the commercial Balance between the exporting countries and the importing countries . The profit sectors are those of the Textile, the mode and the Chaussure.
