Spanish symphony of Lalo
The Spanish Symphonie is a work for Violon and Orchestre composed by Edouard Lalo, his 21e Opus in minor C. Written in 1874 for the Violonist Pablo de Sarasate, it is created by the dedicatee with the Popular Concerts with Paris the February 7th 1875.
Officially a Symphony, it is regarded as a Concerto for violin by the musicians today. Work is written during one time when the Latin rates/rhythms were in vogue (Carmen of Georges Bizet is presented to the public one month later).
The Spanish Symphonie is one of the most known works of Lalo. It was a success as of its creation and made it possible its author to be made a name.
She is written in five movements:
- Allegro not troppo
- Scherzando: Allegro molto
- Intermezzo: Allegretto not troppo
- Andante
- Rondo: Allegro
