Spanish Basque Country

Basque Country Spanish ( have Hegoalde in Basque which means area of the south ), indicates the southern part of the Basque Country, located at the south of the Bidassoa, frontier river between the France and the Spain.

It is delimited in the west by the Cantabrie, in the south by the Èbre, in the east by the Aragon and in north by the the Pyrenees (which separate it from the Basque Country French) and the sea Cantabrique (the Bay of Biscay).

It is composed of the three provinces of the autonomous Communauté of the Country-Basque and the Communauté forale of Navarre.

One names sometimes this part Basque Country southern in reference to the translation of the Basque of have Hego Euskal Herria .
