Spanair

Spanair S.A. (Code AITA: JK ; Code ICAO: JKK ) is a Spanish Airline company, subsidiary company with 94,9% of the group SAS, founded in December 1986. Member of Star Alliance since April 1st 2003. Its head office is located at Palma de Majorque, in the Balearic Islands, where its hub is principal.

Float: 54 planes. More than 8 million passengers transported in 2003.

It operates scheduled flights in Spain since February 1994 (currently 77% of its flights are regular). Since Nov. 1997, it also operates international flights (the first international flight: Madrid - Washington - Dulles).

Spanair is a subsidiary company with 51% of Spanair Holding (which itself belongs at SAS with 90% and 10% to Teinver) and of Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS) for 49%.
