Spacewatch

Spacewatch is a project of the Université of Arizona which is specialized in the study of the minor planets, of which various kinds of Astéroïde S and Comet S.

This project was launched in 1980 by Tom Gehrels and the doctor Robert S. McMillan; this last is the current person in charge of the project.

Spacewatch discovered a Natural satellite of Jupiter, now called Callirrhoé, which in the beginning was regarded by error as an asteroid.

Others notable discoveries include (5145) Pholus, (20000) Varuna, 1998 KY26, and. The project also found (719) Albert (an asteroid lost for a long time), and discovered the Comet 125P/Spacewatch.
