Spaces of Virchow-Robin
The spaces of Virchow-Robin , still called spaces périvasculaires , owe their name with Rudolf Virchow and Charles Philippe Robin. In fact spaces, often only virtual surround the Blood-vessels during a short distance whereas they enter the Cerveau. These spaces are thus between on the one hand the wall of the vessels and on the other hand the intima pia which is the avasculaire layer of the Pie-mère. They form kinds of sheaths, under arachnoïdienne and pliale, surrounding the small arteries penetrating in the cortex, and filled of LCR.

- a new cause of mental decline related to the age the widening of spaces of Virchow-Robin would be one of the causes of certain forms of Démence in the elderly.
