Souzdal ( Су́здаль ) is a city of the Oblast of Vladimir, Russia, in the North-East of Moscow. It is with 26 kilometers of the town of Vladimir, on the river Kamenka.

The city appears for the first time in the history in the year 1024. It was during several hundred years the capital of several Russian principalities. Souzdal is the cradle of the Russian State because its princes, become princes de Vladimir then of Moscow were going to be the rassembleurs “of all Russies” before taking the title of tsar .
