Souverainism

The souverainism is political doctrines supporting the acquisition or the safeguarding of the political autonomy of a nation or an area in the exercise of the Souveraineté. He is opposed to the Fédéralisme like with the Jacobinisme seen from the supra-official point of view and approaches the independence movements.

European Souverainism

French term to indicate a political current which militates for a “ Europe of the nations ”, so that each country way its respected differences and its autonomy. Its defenders name eurorealists - in opposition to the federalistic Europeans who wish the United States of Europe - and militate for confederal Europe. This current is sometimes also named Euroscepticisme. The souverainism is thus opposed to the Fédéralisme, but some estimate particularly that it recovers sometimes a Nationalisme not assumed, in France for the parties claiming itself some (cf lists below). Its adversaries estimate that this current is actually opposed to any idea European construction since they refuse to allot a real political power to him. Charles Maurras also gave in its time a definition of the federalism, respecting the people and the identities.

Souverainism, incarnated by Jean-Marie Le Pen, Philippe de Villiers or Jimmy Goldsmith, deceased in 1997, denounce the international Libre-échange, the Mondialisation, estimating that those are done with the detriment of France and more largely of the European nations. Those denounce in particular the economic policy followed by the EU in Brussels, like opposite with the interests of the industrial employment in France. In this direction, these souverainists can join the positions adopted by the antiones, located on the left or at the extreme left. However, these souverainists do not adopt a critical posture towards the Capitalisme, which they continue to support as being the best possible economic system.
