Southland Bruise

Southland Tales is an American thriller of Science-fiction of 2006, written and carried out by Richard Kelly, realizer of Donnie Darko , and putting in scene Dwayne Douglas Johnson alias The Rock, Sean William Scott and Sarah Michelle Gellar. The film locates its action in 2008, in the town of Los Angeles, whereas the the United States undergo a major crisis on the ecological level, economic and social. The film, from which turning began the August 15th 2005, required a budget of roughly 15 million American dollars.

The history, strongly inspired of the universes of Philip K. Dick of which number of novels were adapted to the cinema, takes seat in the town of Los Angeles the July 4th 2008 (American national festival). After the discovery of a new energy source derived from the oceans, the world is deviated of its orbit and the mental stability of the inhabitants of the Earth starts to be exhausted. The planet not being able to avoid the imminent tragedy, it sinks in chaos and anarchy.

Southland Bruise , in competition with the Cannes festival 2006, was projected in preview the May 21st 2006. Distributed by the company Sony, this one required of the realizer to re-examine the assembly of film before distributing it. The film will leave to the United States on November 9th, 2007. No coming out date in France for the moment is fixed.

Synopsis

Vis-a-vis the fuel shortage, a large company American E works out an inexhaustible generator of energy starting from a German technology which channels flows of the ocean. The problem of this technology is that it deteriorates unrelentingly the rotation movement of the Ground, causing a fault in the space-time continuum which will disturb the human behaviors. An amnesic actor (The Rock'n'roll), a ex-star of the porn (Sarah Michelle Gellar), two twin brothers, a senator and his team find themselves in particular carried in a fight between the capacity politico-soldier and of the bunches néo-Marxists of Venice Beach.
