The southern hemisphere or southern hemisphere is half of the sphere Ground stre which extends between the equator and the South pole. In Astronomy, this term indicates the part of the sky located at the south of the celestial equator (variation S negative).

In Political and economy, the southern hemisphere also represents the whole of the Pays in the process of development (mainly the Africa) in opposition to the northern Hemisphere (the industrialized Pays of Europe, Asia and America).
