Souther, Hillman, Furay Band is a group made up of John David Souther, an author close to the Eagles, Chris Hillman, ex- Byrds /ex- Flying Burrito Brothers /ex- Manassas and Richie Furay, ex- Buffalo Springfield /ex- Poco.

Created by David Geffen (Geffen Records) in the middle of the years 1970, this formation also included/understood:

  • Paul Harris: keyboards (ex-Manassas),
  • Jim Clarke: Battery (ex-Byrds, Ex Flying Burrito Brothers),
  • Joe Lala: percussions (ex-Manassas),
  • Al Perkins: Pedal Steel Guitar, guitars (ex-Manassas)

This group recorded 2 albums studio and separated shortly after not having obtained the success discounted by Geffen. The 3 accolytes were too individualistic and since too a long time only on scene so that fusion takes place. To note the strong presence of ex-Manassas, fire groups of Stephen Stills. Richie Furay founded then the Richie Furay Band, Chris Hillman started a true career solo then founded Desert Rose. When to John David Souther, it turned over to write songs for the others with appearances on the albums solo of his colleagues of Eagles.
