The Southeastern Conference ( SEC ) is a grouping of twelve universities managing the competitions Sport ives in nine male sports and eight sports female in the south-east of the the United States.
History
This conference was created in December 1932 by thirteen members of the Southern Conference. Ten of the thirteen cofounders of this conference evolve/move there always today. Sewanee left the conference in 1940. The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (1964) and the Tulane Green Wave (1966) made in the same way. Reduced to ten members until in 1991, the conference then accommodates the Arkansas Razorbacks and the South Carolina Gamecocks.

In many sports, these formations are divided into two geographical groups: Is and Western. Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, South Carolina, Tennessee and Vanderbilt in the East; LSU, Auburn, the Mississippi State, Arkansas, Alabama and Ole Miss in the West.
