South Street Seaport ( seaport of South Street ) is a historical and tourist zone of the town of New York, centered on the end of Fulton Street which gives on the East River.
Located in the south-east of Manhattan, and being next to the Financial District, one often regards South Street Seaport as a district with share. A section of Fulton Street preserved its old paving stones. One finds there buildings commercial dating from the beginning of the 19th century, a fish market ( Fulton Fish Market ), and commercial galleries with shops, restaurants and bars. Sailing ships are moored along the port, on the pier n° 17, among which Flying P-Liner Peking, as well as boat-museums. Pier, one has an excellent sight on the Pont of Brooklyn and on Brooklyn Heights.
