Sourcefire () is an american company founded in 2001 by Martin Roesch, the creator of the free software IDS Snort.

In October 2005, the Israeli company Check Point tried to aquƩrir Sourcefire for 225 million US dollars, but in March 2006 CFIUS suspended the transaction by calling upon safety reasons main road.

In 2007, Sourcefire acquires the free project of Anti-virus software ClamAV, that caused a fear in the community of the antivirus.
