Sound nights

sound Nuits is an annual festival of Electronic music being held over four days with Lyon in France.

It is organized by association Arty Farty since 2002. Its specificity is to invest places emblematic of the town of Lyon: streets, museums, industrial waste lands,… The programming is in general revealed in March and the festival takes place in May.

General information

Structure of the festival

Sound nights is structured around nine complementary main roads emphasizing the various components of the electronic cultures. The three nights are the evenings engines of the festival.

electronic Circuit

The " circuit électronique" gather nine free stages disseminated in the city and left again over the day and the night. These stages are organized by local actors of the electronic musics with the financial support and media of Arty Farty.

associated Course

The " course associé" is the slope contemporary art of the festival. It introduces artists and works which echo the universe of the electronic musics. The exposures, the performances, projections and the meetings take place in art galleries, Lyons institutional places and in public space.

special Concert

The " concert spécial" instituted in 2005, has the aim of proposing an artist or a particularly influential group of the history of the electronic music or its roots.

Freehand

The " chart blanche" each year is allotted to a large emblematic metropolis of the last and contemporary history of the electronic musics. Marseilles in 2003, Barcelona in 2004, Manchester in 2005, Paris in 2006 and New York in 2007 were thus invited to the festival, through a delegation of musicians, djs but also of plastics technicians or vidéastes. The freehand is declined in several places of the festival.

sound Aperitifs

" aperitifs sonores" , the " warm-up" and " bars sonores" are organized in parallel. Free appointments over all the period of the festival, they accommodate the public in forty establishments of the city. The " Mixmove" village; is the window of the professionals of the electronic music. He addresses himself to the professionals and to the amateurs electronic cultures and proposes all last technological developments of the sector, the audio productions, of documentation, a permanent music scene and spaces of restoration.

sound Naps

" naps sonores" , Sunday of fence, are the framework of the last go convivial in the open air.

sound Images

" Images sonores" is the course instituted in 2006 around the relation images/musics. This program consists of video conferences and installations.
