Soumoy
Soumoy (in Walloon Soûmwè ) is a section of the common Belgian of Cerfontaine located in Walloon region in the Province of Namur.
It was a commune with whole share before the fusion of the communes of 1977.
Etymology
The name of Soumoy means muddy ground (Germanic sulm ).
Old forms: Solmaym (1113), Somain (1217), Soumain (1316), Soumaingne (1558).
History
Commune of the department of the Ardennes, then of that of Sambre-and-Meuse under the French mode.
