Soummam

The valley of Soummam , of the name of the river which crosses it, is located in Kabylie, area of the north of the Algérie, occupying a broad corridor of the Wilaya of Béjaïa.

Enclosed between the unit Akfadou - Gouraya in North, the chain of the Bibans (historical territory of the Has Abbas) in south-east and the valley of the the Sahel - Djurdjura (common of Tazmalt) in south-west. The valley of Soummam which extends from Akbou with Béjaia, seems narrow a 65 km length sinuous corridor (inside the wilaya of Béjaïa) over a maximum width of 4 km to El-Kseur.

The slopes particularly in the South, are relatively soft slopes and thus very developed. This zone is broken up into small pedological units different: the Flysch carries it with Akbou, the sandstone is dominating in El-Kseur.

The communes of Amizour, of El-Kseur, Ouzellaguen and Timezrit have vast spaces specific to rich cultures such as the Maraîchage and the fruit-bearing Arboriculture.
