Soukhoï T-4
The Soukhoï T-4 is a Soviet project of strategic Bombardier able to reach a speed of Mach 3.
History
The program was initiated in December 1962 by the Soviet government. Three manufacturers were in competition and Soukhoï gained the part with its T-4. It made its first flight the August 22nd 1972 with provisional engines RD36-41, 250 specimens were considered.
The project was abandoned in 1974 or 1975, before the real performances of the plane cannot be given because the production of the Mig-23 Mikoyan-Gourevitch had priority.
Only the prototype with stolen, the last 4 apparatuses were reinforced.
Characteristics
It is one of the first planes to use the electric orders of flight, it is particularly interesting for its structure in Titane and Acier.
