Soukhoï Superjet 100

The Sukhoï SuperJet 100 or SSJ100, so known under its old name Regional Russian Jet or RRJ, is a family of planes of regional transport of the company Sukhoï Civil Aircraft Company (SCAC), under development. The first flight is planned for the end of 2007 and the first service entrance for the end of 2008.

Three versions were initially envisaged, being characterized by the length from the fuselage, to 60,75 and 95 places. Taking into account the rise of the kerosene, program 60 was cold and a version of 110 passengers is considered by SCAC.

The plane will be equipped with the engine PowerJet SaM146 jointly developed by the French motor mechanic Snecma and Russian motor mechanic NPO Saturn, gathered within the joint-venture PowerJet. " (Information: YB-HS-DCSG 11/18/2007) - >> the company Hispano-Suiza, partner major of this program, provides the entirety of the system of regulation of this turbopropeller. Hispano-Suiza studied and conceived the near total of the equipment of regulation such as the FADEC (Full Authority DIGITAL Engine Control) and the FMU (Fuel Metering Unit) inter alia. Concerning the reduction of the cost of exploitation of this engine section ASL (Assistance with the Logistical support) of the after-sales department of Hispano-Suiza carried out throughout the development of this engine of the studies so that the system and the equipment of regulation are maintained in operation “ONE CONDITION” i.e. without operation of revision périodique". Of another French companies are recipients in this program (Thalès, Intertechnique, Liebherr, ECE,…). The other major suppliers are in majority North-Americans (Parker, BE Aerospace, Honeywell, Goodrich, Curtiss-Wright,…).

The plane marks the diversification of Sukhoï towards the civil field. It is a program " structurant" for the Russian aeronautics from approximately 1 billion dollar. Yakovlev and Iliouchine is associated with the program, which receives also investments of Alenia Aeronautica (which now has 25% plus an action of SCAC).

The main market concerned is the replacement of old apparatuses in service on the Russian regional lines, like the Yakovlev Yak-40, Yakovlev Yak-42, or the Tupolev You-134. The domestic main competitor is You-334. But the plane aims also export, and there the support of Alenia Aeronautica and the partnership with Boeing should be useful. For the planes intended for the Western companies, a site of delivery and support to the exploitation will be created in Toulouse with Italian personnel half, Russian half.

86 apparatuses are in orders, plus 34 options, by four Russian companies (45 for Aeroflot, 10 for LFC, 15 for AiRUnion, and 6 for Dalavia) and European (10 for ItAli Airlines).

September 26th, 2007, the first specimen of the Sukhoï SuperJet 100 left the factory of assembly of Komsomolsk-on-the Love.
