Souillac

Geography

Souillac is a city of the department of the Lot, in old the province of the Quercy. It is located on the secondary road D 820 (old RN 20), with 63 kilometers in the north of Cahors, and 37 kilometers in the south of Brive-the-Strapping woman (Corrèze). It is also accessible by the highway A20 (left).

Souillac is located in the valley of the the Dordogne, whose course delimits the city in the south. Another river, Borrèze, crosses the downtown area.

The path of great excursion GR. 6 passes by Souillac, and connects Rocamadour (to south-east) and Sarlat (in the west)

In 1819, the commune of Beaurepos , which belonged to the department of the the Dordogne is attached to that of the Batch and amalgamates with Souillac .
