Soueich

Soueich is a common French, located in the department of the Haute-Garonne and the area the Midday-Pyrenees.

Its inhabitants is called Soueichois.

Commune located in Comminges at 11 km at the South of Saint-Gaudens on the Ger

History

Soueich forever belonged to the Baronnie of Aspet. When the royal administration was essential, Soueich was attached to the Châtellenie Salies. The village belonged to the Hospitaliers of Montsaunès. It is for that undoubtedly that it profited from a particular protection. In the middle of the 19th century, one still saw a door strengthened at the entry of the street of Paty (suffered = surface, place), the " Pourtalado". The name " Carrèro of the barrats" who indicates one of the streets giving on the place indicates the presence of a ground lifting (barrat) and of a ditch.
