Souïmanga
Souïmanga is the vernacular name of a hundred species of Oiseau X Passériformes. They are gathered within 4 kinds and 115 species and form with the Aracnothère S (and the Dicée S, according to the authors), the family of the nectariniidés .
Description
Nectarivores for the majority, it have colors chatoyantes as the Trochilidae with which they do not have however family ties direct. Souïmangas were differentiated from the aracnothères because the latter are, in general, insectivorous and of duller colors without sexual Dimorphisme important. At Souïmanga, the males have a plumage highly coloured and made iridescent, whereas the females are generally dull (gray, brown ou/et olive). Like all the family members, these species are in the majority of the tropical and subtropical zones of Africa, of Eurasia until in Australia.
Etymology
The term “souïmanga” is of Malagasy origin. It can be written without dieresis, with or without indent.
