The sorption is the action to absorb, to adsorb or to desorb. It results from the action of molecules of gases or liquid put in contact with a solid material, and which adhere to its surface. The Adsorption is the fixing of these molecules of gas or liquid on the surface, whereas the Absorption is fixing and the chemical conversion of these molecules: in both cases, the fixed molecule is not present any more in solvent.
Lastly, the Désorption is the reverse transformation of the adsorption, by which the adsorbed molecules are detached from the Substrat.

Sorption, in particular adsorption and desorption, play a crucial role in the toxic substance reaction of, for examples for the organic substances in the air (fixing of the particles of aerosol). The toxic substances can be also fixed durably at particles of the ground.
Sorption is used for the solar air-conditioning thanks to refrigerating machines by absorption or dehumidification of the air thanks to absorbent substances.
