Sorinières ( " Soreinèrr" in Gallo/poitevin) is a common French, located in the department of the Loire-Atlantique and the area Pays of the Loire. The common one belongs to the historical Brittany and the Pays of Retz

Its inhabitants is called the Sorinièrois . and the Sorinièroises .

Geography

Sorinières are located at 6km in the south of the town of Nantes.

History

Populated originally by the Gallic people of the Ambilâtres belonging to the confederation of the people Pictons.

In IXesiècle, the territory will belong to the county of Herbauges made up in military defense of the Low-Poitou against the raids Vikings, with rezé like capital.

In 851, the Traité of Angers attaches the Pays of Retz to the common Marches Brittany-Poitou. The commune was born from the dismemberment of the communes of the Bignon, Bridge-Saint-Martin and Vertou, the May 31st 1865.
