Sorbo-Ocagnano

Sorbo-Ocagnano is a common French, located in the department of the Haute-Corse and the Corsica area .

Ocagnano is in the Pieve of Casinca, microphone-area of Castagniccia, which counts seven communes, which are by demographic order of importance: - Penta - Vescovato (chief town) - Venzolasca - Sorbo-Ocagnano - Castellare - Loretto and forgets it - Porri

History

Sorbo Ocagnano: Mountain with the sea thyrénéenne
Sorbo Ocagnano, appeared at the 13th century, was separate in two administrations, but to date counted also two still existing parishes.

Sorbu and its church of the 15th century San Petru. In 1646, the bishop of the diocese visiting the village evokes then the church of San Ghjuvanni (classified historic site to date), already in bad condition.

Ocagnani, this hamlet bears the name of the brook which takes there its source, it is the second parish with the current church has Nunziata, built around 1680, it is the third church of the village after that of Santa Croce entirely destroyed, but also the vault of San Damianu located at approximately 1 km of the hamlet which was to be the church of the village of Campu destroys with and there remain only some ruins today.

Towards 1820, the two hamlets become the commune of Sorbo Ocagnano, with the hamlet of Querciolo, on the littoral seaside.

The commune extends from the Mount San Angelo in Pinarello. Geographical center of the canton of Vescovato and the micro Casinca area.
