Sophie-Dorothée of Brunswick-Lunebourg
Sophie-Dorothée of Brunswick-Lunebourg (Sophie-dorothée of Brunswick-Zeal) (September 10th 1666 with That - November 2nd 1726 with the castle of Ahlden) is the girl and heiress of Georges Guillaume duke of Brunswick-Lunebourg, knight about the Jumper and of Éléonore Desmier d' Olbreuse.
It Marie on November 21st 1682 with That with George Ier of Great Britain, then divorce by the consistory of Hanover on December 28th 1694. From this union was born:
- George II of Great Britain king d' Angleterre;
- Sophia Dorothée (1687-1757), queen of Prussia, which married in 1706 Frederic-Guillaume I the King Sergent king de Prusse
Biography
It was éprise of the colonel of Swedish dragons Philipp Christoph von Koenigsmark, the lovers were discovered and surprised on July 1st 1694 and, while Koenigsmark was assassinated at once in Hanover under unknown conditions remained for attempt at removal of the princess, the future George I made intern with life his wife with the castle-fortress of Ahlden where it was interned during thirty two years, it will never know England.
She dies in captivity on November 2nd 1726 with 23:00 with the castle of Ahlden.
