Sophia Loren

Sophia Loren , of its true name Sofia Villani Scicolone , is an actress Italy born the September 20th 1934 with Rome.

It is the widow of the producer of cinema Carlo Ponti (1912-2007). There will be two marriages, one in September 1957 which will be cancelled for not-recording of the divorce of Carlo Ponti and his preceding wife, the other the April 9th 1966.

It is the aunt of Alessandra Mussolini, political woman Italian: the mother of this one, Anna Maria, sister of Sophia, married Romano Mussolini, a son of the dictator Benito Mussolini.

Biography

Illegitimate girl of engineer Riccardo Scicolone, Sofia is taken along by her mother Romilda Villani, teaching of piano, which moves of Rome with Pouzzoles with Sofia.

Sofia Scicolone passes a difficult childhood and a youth to Pouzzoles, port city of approximately 80  000 inhabitants with about fifteen km of Naples, (area of Campania). The photograph of Sophia Loren naked centres was taken again besides a few years later in Playboy , when the statute of star of the actress had become reality. It was never shown again explicitly naked since, alleging that it did not feel at ease under these conditions and that “Sophia Loren naked, that represents much nudity”. It is on turning, in 1952, of film Under seas of Africa of Giovanni Roccardi that is born Sophia Loren , thus “renamed” by producer Goffredo Lombardo and that another producer Carlo Ponti, that she will marry later although it is 22 years its elder, makes him sign a seven year old contract. In 1955, it makes the cover of Life magazine whereas Carlo Ponti considers for it an international career.

The period of 1957 with 1961 will be its period Hollywood and she will play under the crook of Jean Negulesco, Stanley Kramer, Henry Hathaway, Delbert Mann, Carol Reed, George Cukor, Melville Shavelson, Sidney Lumet, Michael Curtiz.
