Soor
The Soor is a small river of the east of the Belgium, affluent of the Helle (all: Hill) crossing the Hertogenwald. In 1948, it was decided to raise the stopping of the Gileppe to prevent the water shortages, which worried wool industries of the area of Verviers. One then decided to dig a tunnel of 2,5km to bring water of the basin of Soor to the lake of Gileppe. Work lasted 2 years and half but was endeuillés by the death of 8 people, including 1 Belgian and 7 Italian, following a flood of the underground channel, caused by a cloudburst of an extreme intensity, upstream of Soor.
