Sonora
Sonora is a State located at the North of the Mexico and the South of the Arizona.
The Désert of Sonora extends on the Mexico and the the United States of America. Certain plants and animals exist only over there and are protected in parks from Conservation. Sonora attracts many tourists on its beaches. This Mexican State is composed of 72 municipalities and the capital is Hermosillo. Airports serve the towns of Hermosillo, Ciudad Obregón and Guaymas. With the census of 2000, Sonora counted 2.216.969 inhabitants, against 1.513.731 with the census of 1980; in 1930, the State was populated only of 316.271 inhabitants.
Eduardo Bours Castelo, member of PRI is the governor of the State since 2003 for a 6 years mandate.
