Song Jiaoren or Sung Chiao-jen (in Chinese: 宋教仁, pinyin: Sòng Jiàorén ) (April 5th 1882 - March 22nd 1913) was a revolutionist Chinese and a political director.
In 1905, with Sun Yat-SEN, Song took part in the creation of the Tongmenghui, an organization of which the goal was to reverse the Dynastie Qing and to form a republic; it was one of the leaders. After the birth of the Republic of China, Song helped with the fusion of Tongmenghui with other groupings to form the Guomindang (or Left nationalist), quickly prohibited by Yuan Shikai.
He died of the wounds undergone at the time of an attempted murder which took place the March 20th 1913 at the station of Shanghai, where he had come as a speaker favorable to the system from ministerial cabinet. It is supposed that Yuan Shikai was at the origin of this blow.
