Sonatas of the Rosary
The sonatas of the Mystery (Rosenkranzsonaten) known under the title of the Sonatas of the Rosary , constitute a cycle of fifteen sonatas for violin and Basse continues and of a Passacaille, composed by the Austrian musician Heinrich Ignaz Franz Biber around 1678.
History
The creation date of the cycle is not known, the title page of the collection having disappeared, the musicologists locate it in the years 1678. This collection was dedicated with the archbishop max Gandolph, contrary with Biber use did not make it publish, but offered it to its dedicatee.
