The Sonata for violoncello and piano n° 3 in major the , COp 69, of Ludwig van Beethoven, made up between 1807 and 1808 then was published in 1809 with a dedication with the baron Gleichenstein.
Composed during the exceptional time which saw the birth of the opening of Coriolan , of the Fifth symphony and of the pastoral Symphonie , this sonata luminous is a top of the Chamber music of Beethoven, then in full possession of its means. The first movement, written in Sonata form, is fullest and most characteristic.
It comprises four movements:
