Sonata for piano n° 3 of Beethoven

The Sonata for piano n° 3 in major C , opus 2 n° 3, of Ludwig van Beethoven, made up between 1794 and 1795 and was dedicated with the sonatas n° 1 and n° 2 to its Master Joseph Haydn.

It profited like the two other sonatas from the opus 2 from a favorable reception from the public and criticism. It is more the virtuoso of the first sonatas of Beethoven. Like number 2 it presents a Scherzo in the third movement to the place of traditional the Menuet.

It comprises four movements and its execution lasts approximately 24 minutes:

  1. Allegro idiot brilliance
  2. Adagio
  3. Scherzo. Allegro
  4. Allegro assai
