Sonata for piano n° 24 of Beethoven
The Sonata for piano n° 24 in major F sharp , opus 78, of Ludwig van Beethoven, made up in 1809, was published in December 1810 and was dedicated to his/her friend the countess Therese von Brunsvik. For this reason one knows sometimes work under the name of Sonate in Therese .
She comprises only two movements and its execution lasts a little less than 8 minutes:
- Adagio cantabile - Allegro my nontroppo
long-lived Allegro
In spite of its brevity, this sonata virtuoso and cordial was liked of its author. If one believes of it the word reported by Karl Czerny, it estimated it more than the Sonate “Moonlight” : “One always speaks about the sonata in C minor sharp, I however wrote better than that, thus the sonata in major F sharp is other thing. ”
