Solvay School Business
The Solvay Business School is the business school of the Universit3e libre de Bruxelles. Founded by Ernest Solvay in 1903, it counts today more than 2000 students divided in about thirty programs of which a program of Graduate and Master in Ingéniorat de Gestion, the MBA and about thirty programs of Executive Education.

Solvay Business School is accredited EQUIS and AMBA.

Formations
The formations promulgated by Solvay Business School are extremely varied and make it possible Solvay Business School to be recognized like a School Business complete. Its formations thus comprise general trainings in management (Graduate, Master and), a program MBA, programs of Executive Education, " in company training" and a doctoral program.-
GENERAL TRAININGS IN MANAGEMENT
A. Graduate in Ingéniorat de Gestion
Exempted in 5 years, the training of engineer of management extremely general-purpose, is shared between a solid bases scientific exempted during the years of the Graduate, an economic formation pushed with a broad opening towards the economic right and financier, a formation with the various fields of the management sciences (organization, strategy, finances, accountancy, control and taxation, marketing, human resources) and an opening towards different disciplines intended to widen the field of knowledge and the critical spirit of our graduates (psychology, sociology, political sciences, etc).
B. Master in Ingéniorat de Gestion
Master in Ingéniorat de Gestion logically supplements the 3 years of Graduate. At the time of these two last years, each student chooses a specialization in which it will follow pointed lesson: finance, accountancy and control, marketing or organization and human resources. In the current of this last year, the student must carry out a report of end of studies and a seminar of company (work of consultance realized in company by group of 3 or 4 students).
C. in Management
OF (diploma of specialized studies) in Management to university graduates a general training in operational and pragmatic management offers. It is characterized by the diversity of the contents approached, its active teaching methods and the quality of the teaching staff. OF in Management develops in a way balanced according to four axes: the acquisition of basic concepts, the development of capacities of analysis, the installation of competences of application and development of attitudes adapted to the concrete situations. The courses, in French, shifted schedule (2 to 3 evenings and Saturday morning), are divided over two years (330h and 300h).

MBA
The MBA Solvay is conceived to provide all the skills and knowledge which the manager needs to face a competitive world and in quick change and constant. For that, the students of the MBA will follow a particularly intensive and demanding program - entirely exempted in English -, thanks to which they will acquéront a comprehension and a practical control of the problems of management which make the difference with an international level. They will be able to also obtain knowledge more specialized in a certain number of fields thanks to the many courses with option.
A. Full-time MBA Programs
Program MBA with time-full is one academic year an intensive formation (10 months) which is spread out second week of September to the third week of June, this year being divided into 5 periods.
B. Share-time MBA Programs
Program MBA with shifted schedule is distributed over 2 academic years (20 months), each one divided into 5 periods, making it possible to the students to continue in parallel their community activities. Two the 10 months sessions are spread out at the beginning of September mid-June. The program however requires very an high level of implication of participation.

EXECUTIVE EDUCATION
With the wire of time, a broad wallet of programs of executive education was developed, in order to provide to the managers knowledge essential with the management of international organizations and to enable them to contribute to dope the performances of the companies which invested in them.
Solvay Business School developed competences in all the disciplines of the trade and management. Today, about thirty programs are proposed, general trainings in management with more specialized courses, Belgium and abroad. Those offer decisive advantages to all the levels of management, juniors with the tested executives, in all the fields of the businesses.

IN-COMPANY TRAINING
Solvay Business School also offers formations to measure at the request of the companies. These formations take account of the specific situation of each company, of its culture of company, its strategic issues and its objectives.

DOCTORAL PROGRAM
The doctoral School in management was created in 2000 by Solvay Business School and the Center Emile Bernheim. This school gathers all the doctoral activities in management with the ULB. The doctoral program is articulated in two times: a Diploma of In-depth studies in Sciences of Management, preparation to the doctorate, and a doctorate itself including a thesis.
Mutual aid between students
Contrary to certain generally accepted ideas, one of the major characteristics of Solvay Business School is the mutual aid existing between its students.
BESolvay (Student Office Solvay) thus created a platform of exchange of notes of course, summaries and of information and placed it at the disposal of the students. The Office Studied Solvay also represents the interests of the students until in the higher realms of Solvay Business School. In addition to being at the origin of the above mentioned platform of exchange, it is charged to guarantee the good contacts between the professors and the students of the program of Engineer de Gestion. BESolvay takes an active part in the development of the school by its various committees and commissions. Finally BESolvay developed activities having for goal the service with the students or promotion of the school such as the organization of Summer School, the Group of Information and Presentation Solvay (GIPS), etc
The Solvay Circle has a extra-more academic vocation (organization of the Orange Ball, evenings, voyages, conferences, Folklore, library data base, etc) and contributes to the mutual aid within the students by the Group of Mutual aid Solvay (GES), which publishes in particular notes of courses, corrected exercises and examinations.
Classifications
It was classified in 2006,
- 14th in Europe for its Master in Management by the Financial Times Masters in Management European Ranking 2005 and 3rd in Finance. It is only Belgian the School Business has to appear in this classification.
- In 2005,1e in Belgium and 22e in Europe by Times Total European Business School ranking
- 20th in Europe and 90e in the world for its MBA
Alumni
In the form of a union the old ones, the SBS Alumni represents today the whole of those and those which obtained one of the diplomas and certificates issued by Solvay Business School and its satellites. Its expansion reflects that of the School thus. Solvay Business School Alumni counts currently more than 12.000 Old, active in all the spheres of the economy and beyond.
The objectives of Solvay Business School Alumni are multiple: a) To hoist the School among the even world elite of the “Schools Businesses” European; b) To serve the community of the graduates of the School; c) To reinforce its network d) To sensitize the graduates with the financial problems of the School which needs their assistance; e) To realize much to convince of its importance by showing a real utility within the definite framework of the two missions of the SBSA (of supporting the presence of the school in the elite what will benefit all; to serve the community of old).
