Solution of continuity
The term solution of continuity means “rupture, interruption which arises in the continuity of something of concrete or of abstract” This expression comes from the vocabulary of the surgery: the solution of continuity, for example for a fracture: there is no more continuity in the bone, the direction, it is broken.
