The Festival of the Solidays is a demonstration of fight against the AIDS organized by Solidarité AIDS, which takes place each year on the Hippodrome of Longchamp and which gathers more than 150 artists during three days.

Programming

Edition 2007

  • the festival took place from July 6th to 8th and brought together 115.000 spectators over the three days, a little trowels by the rain which fell down on Longchamp in after midday. The multitude is with the fall as for the majority of the other festivals and the live performance in general, but thanks to good sales of last minute and with the support of the media, the organization posted its satisfaction as for the frequentation 2007.

The programming was announced on April 26th (lack still 4 names). 4 scenes are designed to accommodate the artists (Paris scene, Bagatelle scene, Phoenix scene and Domino scene):

Jump with the rubber band

Since 2002, association " An Idea In the Air… " take part in Solidays by proposing the activity of jump to the rubber band. The association, which uses since 1993 the jump with the rubber band like means of action of fight against AIDS in the districts, spent several years to obtain the authorizations necessary to organize jump on the hippodrome of longchamps because of its ratachement at the town of Paris but it is now difficult of immaginer the absence of this activity.

  • In 2002 it was a crane during two days, the team which discovered the festival was surprised, having started by proposing jumps alone, it was obliged to only pass to Bi jumps.

  • In 2003 they were two cranes during two days, jumps with two only.
  • In 2004 they were still two cranes but during 3 days! Jumps always being done to two.
  • In 2005, always with two gruies during 3 days, it became possible to choose between jumps with two or to three (as long as the weights allow it, cad a total of less 200kg)
  • In 2007, always with two cranes during 3 days, 1522 people (+ Diam' S and his/her girlfriend) jumped to the rubber band.

Since 2007, sponsored Durex the activity but they pays only the price of the hiring of the cranes, the technical service of jump to the rubber band (about thirty voluntary formed in order to ensure the safety, the material, 6 rubber bands of jumps,…) is offered since always by an Idea In the Air…

Certain people wait more than 5 hours to be able to jump!

Anecdotes

In 2004, the festival proceeded under the rain and the public (50000 people) lengthened in mud to prove its solidarity towards the people reached of the AIDS.
