The massive of Brenta is a solid mass of the Eastern Préalpes Southerners. It rises in Italy (Trentin-Haut-Adige). It holds its name of a central top. On the other hand, the river Brenta takes its source apart from the solid mass, slightly more in south-east.
The Cima Tosa is the culminating point of the solid mass.
Geography
Situation
The solid mass is directed North-South towards approximately 40 km for 12 km broad and is surrounded of the Massif of Ortles in north, the Massif of Non and the the Alps de Fiemme in the east, of the Montagnes around Lake Garda in the south and of the solid mass of Adamello-Presanella in the west.It is bordered by the Noce in north (Valley di Sole) and in the east and the Adige in south-east.

Geology
The solid mass of Brenta is made up mainly of Dolomite. One speaks besides frequently about the Dolomites of Brenta. But, located at the west of Adige, it does not form geographically part of this unit.The rock is despite everything known for the pink characteristic color which it takes with the paddle and with the Crépuscule and for the shapes of keeps that it acquired during the erosion.

Excursion, climbing and via ferrata
The lace cliffs of the summits lend themselves well to the practice Escalade and Via ferrata. A great number of ways are equipped.In addition, of many refuges allow to practice the excursion in all peace.
Environment
The solid mass is covered by part of the natural park of Adamello-Brenta.One of principal attractions was, until in 1964, the red coloring of the Lake Tovel, which had with an alga which proliferated in the water heated during the summer, because of the Phosphore S and of the Azote rejected by the cows which fed in the neighborhoods.
A famous species is present there, the Omble knight.
