Solid Steel

Solid Steel is the disc of the first recording Live of the dj Amon Tobin published in 2004 on the label Ninja Tune.

This album encloses a world tour of Amon Tobin of almost one year and half begun after the exit from Out From Out Where . This is the recording of its last service with Melbourne in Australia.

For the Live services, Amon Tobin uses technology Final Scratch (two false turntables retranscribe the Mp3 of a PC allowing the Scratch thus) and a Laptop. This method makes it possible to work on an inexhaustible database and makes it possible to leave free course to the improvisation.

The sound is primarily Drum' Low and Breakbeat with an alternation between the proper compositions of the Dj and the titles of artists such DJ Food or The Velvet Underground. It should be noted that a piece of the group Destiny's Child was also played in Live but could not appear on the album for reasons of license with their recording company.
