Soilwork
Soilwork is a melody group of Death Swedish formed in 1995.
History
Founded in 1995, the group was first of all known under the name of Inferior Breed , with the following members: Bjorn Strid (or Bjorn “Speed” Strid, singer of the group, also forming part of the groups Disarmonia Mundi and Terror 2000), Peter Wichers (rhythmic guitar), Jimmy Persson (battery), Mattias Nilsson (rhythmic guitar and solo) and Carl-Gustav Döös (low).With the autumn 1996, the group takes the current name of “Soilwork”.
After a named demonstration In Dreams We Fall Into The Eternal Lake they found Ola Fink , new bass player of the group to launch out in the preparation of their very first album, Steelbath Suicide. They signed on the French label Listenable Records.
After the recording of the album, some modifications come to be added to the line-up: Henry Ranta takes seat with the battery and Ola Frenning (uncle of Peter ) with the rhythmic guitar and solo.
In 1999 leaves their second album, The Chainheart Machine .
They change label, Nuclear Blast, to leave their third album has Predator' S Portrait . Sven Karlsson , clavierist, arrived in the group. Improving with the passing of years, they will leave consecutively two albums, Natural Born Chaos (2002) and Figure Number Five (2003) which will be a great success.
In February 2005 leaves their last album: Stabbing The Drama .
After the departure of Henry Ranta (June 2003) arrived a new beater, Dirk Verbeuren succeeding the temporary beater Richard Evensand .
In December 2005, a new article posted by the guitarist Peter Wichers on their Internet site explains: I decided to leave Soilwork. That was one of the most difficult decisions that I had to take, Soilwork was not only my group but also my second family and of very good friends since ten ans.
I am simply exhausted because of the rounds, and I reached one moment of my life where to leave in round quite simply became impossible. I need to make a pause far from the life in round, in order to be able to build strong foundations for my life future. It was then replaced by Daniel Antonsson.
