Sogyal Rinpoché

Sogyal Rinpoché (Sogyal LAKAR) is a LAMA Dzogchen of the tradition Nyingma of the Bouddhisme Tibetan.

Born in the province from the Kham (Eastern Tibet) in 1947, it was adopted by Jamyang Khyentsé Chökyi Lodrö which recognized immediately it like the incarnation of Tertön Sogyal, one of its spiritual Masters and also one of the Masters of the 13th Dalaï Lama, Thubten Gyatso.
It is in particular known to have Co-writing with Patrick Gaffney the book Tibetan of the life and dead the inspired by the Bardo Thödol.
In 1971, Rinpoché spent a few months to Cambridge, in compared religions. It continued to look further into its practice with of the LAMA such as Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoché, Dudjom Rinpoché and Nyoshul Khen Rinpoché, being used to them as assistant. He has taught Buddhism in Occident for approximately 25 years and circulates between Europe, America, Australia and Asia. He founded Rigpa, global area network of Buddhist centers of which he is the spiritual adviser. The organization includes/understands 106 centers or meeting places distributed in 23 country.

It created the center of " Compassion and of Sagesse" of Lerab Ling (located at the North of the department of Herault, close to Lodève) and supported the construction of largest and more beautiful Buddhist temple of Western Europe. Since August 2006, it directs there 3 years a semi-closed retirement for 150 to 300 of its Western students.

The man remains in spite of enough discussed because of charges of physical, psychic and sexual abuse, carried by a plaintiff at the time of a suit at law in November 1994 in the USA. , , , .
