Seltz is a common French, located in the department of the the Low-Rhine and the area Alsace. The town of Seltz ( German Selz in ) owes its Latin name ( Saletio ) with the Romains which chose the site for its geographical and strategic position at the edge of the the Rhine. Located on the border of the empire ( Files ), the city played the part of fortress vis-a-vis the cruel tribes.
The locality has nothing to do with the water of Soda , which owes its name with common allemande of Selters. The water of Soda is called in German Selterswasser .
