Socialist organization of the workers (Senegal)
The socialist Organization of the workers (OST) was a political party Senegal board of obedience trotskist.
History
The party is founded in France in 1973 by Sally Ndongo and Babacar Doudou under the name of Groupement of the revolutionary workmen (GOR). Previously both were members of the first organization trotskist sénégalaise of post-war period, the working Avant-garde, which crumbled shortly after to have excluded them.In 1976 a minority fraction of the GOR separates some to form the communist Ligue of the workers (LCT). In 1977 the GOR starts to develop its activities in Senegal. GOR and LCT start, without success, of the negotiations for a possible reunification.
The GOR then joined the Fourth International. In February 1982, it is legally recorded like political party under the name of socialist Organization of workers (OST).
At the time of the presidential election of 1983 it supports Majhemout Diop African Parti independence.
In 1991 the OST is one of the founding members of And-Jëf/African Parti for the democracy and socialism (And-Jëf/PADS).

The General secretary of the OST was Mbaye Bathily.The party published a periodical entitled working Combat .
