In a broad definition of the notion of the " social" , one can hear it as being the expression of the existence of relations between the alive ones. Certain not-human animals, such as the majority of the mammals for example, are qualified social species. The same applies to certain insects. With the common Direction, the " term; social" generally return towards the common noun: company, the lawyers hear however for this word all that refers to work (social right).

However, sociological designs of " company " many and even sometimes in certain authors, are completely called in question. It is thus important to conceive the social one under a more sociological angle.

Social as a sociological concept

The sociological conceptualizations of what the social one represents appeared with the need for defining the object of research of sociology. Durkheim was one of the first to try to define what is sociology by posing its object of research as being the " social substrate ".
