Small singers of Holy-Cross of Neuilly

The Petits singers of Holy-Cross of Neuilly (PCSCN) are a chorus of boys created into 1956 within the college of the same name, with Neuilly-sur-Seine.

Louis Prudhomme founded the chorus in 1956 while giving to the last style one of the beautiful institutions of the college celebrated in his time by Henry de Montherlant and fallen since in disuse: Schola created as of the origins of the establishment. It developed the activities of the chorus considerably, into the very young federation of the Pueri Cantores founded under the impulse of Monseigneur Maillet (the mythical founder of the Petits singers to the wood Cross integrated it) and hoisted it with the very first row of the French manécanteries.

In 1985, Louis Prudhomme left the hand to François Polgár, a former student of Holy-Cross which was also successively assistant chief of the choruses of the Opera of Paris then chief of the chorus of Radio-France. He inserted the Small singers in a new era by transforming the chorus into control, i.e. by creating within the college Holy-Cross of Neuilly a course adapted for the boys wishing to intensively practice the choir singing, which enables them to follow a robust formation to the song and the music, while continuing their academic studies. The Control ensures the musical service of the ceremonies which rythment life of the college. It often occurs in the great festivals (Oxford, Aix-en-Provence, Auvers-sur-Oise, Wengen…) and regularly interprets philosopher's stones with orchestra (Requiem of Mozart, Requiem of Fauré, the Messiah of Hændel…). Its repertory includes/understands also many hymns and laymen has cappella .

Each summer, the Small singers leave in round, France and throughout the world. They visited all the areas of France, and occurred in the United Kingdom, in Switzerland, in Italy, in Spain, in Canada, in the United States, in many countries of Eastern Europe… On their Internet site, the Small singers of Holy-Cross reaffirm their double mission: “To deepen their spiritual reflection and that of their public by affirming their vocation of " Missionaries of the paix" , and to contribute to the revival of the French school of the controls by the research of a musical quality increasingly higher. ”
